← Q8 Q10 →

Consider the following statements regarding recent Ministry of Defence contracts:1.GSAT-7C is a geostationary communication satellite dedicated to the Indian Navy.2.Varunastra is an electrically propelled heavy-weight ship-launched torpedo.Which of the statements given above is/are correct?

A Neither 1 nor 2
B 1 only
C Both 1 and 2
D 2 only

Correct answer: (d) 2 only

Explanation

Statement 1 is incorrect because GSAT-7C is dedicated to the Indian Air Force, whereas GSAT-7 (Rukmini) serves the Navy. Statement 2 is correct as Varunastra is an electrically propelled heavy-weight ship-launched anti-submarine torpedo. Thus, only statement 2 is correct.
