- Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Vikas Mission was launched in 2021-22 to organize forest-dwelling Scheduled Tribes into enterprise-driven processing units.
- Scheduled Tribes in India derive 20–40% of their annual income from Minor Forest Produce like honey, tendu leaves, mahua flowers, tamarind, and lac.
- The mission establishes community-owned Van Dhan Vikas Kendras to shift tribal gatherers from raw material suppliers to value-addition entrepreneurs.
