Why in news

  • The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved four railway line multi-tracking projects across eight districts in West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.

  • The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs sanctioned multi-tracking proposals covering approximately 410 kilometres of new track addition at a total estimated cost of ₹9,450 crore.
