Plio-pleistocene hominids in South and East Africa

Paranthropus aethiopicus: Lived roughly 2.7 to 2.3 million years ago in East Africa. Known from the "Black Skull", it is the earliest robust species and shows a strong sagittal crest combined with a protruding face.
