Opening scene
Anecdote
A CM garlands a farmer on a stage. The same man still waits on a cane payment. Pride that does not clear the dues is a costume. The topic wants honour with an arithmetic. Pride that does not pay the cane is a speech. Honour is a price, a water, and a seat that is not a joke.
Keep this in every paragraph
One stand
- Pride: food, a vote, a civilisation of the field. Our: the republic’s debt. Write MSP, a debt, a woman without title.
Use once, in a scene — do not dump names
Quotes to earn
-
Gandhi
Village — then the unpaid bill.

What the line is asking
- Pride as recognition. Farmer as a heterogeneous we (landless too).
Honour / ledger
- Procurement for some crops. A suicide belt as a shame of the ‘our’.
The counter
Romantic smallness that refuses a food-processing job is another cruelty. Pride includes a son who leaves and a father who stays with a viable mix.
Pay, then praise
- MSP logic, a mill arrears, a crop insurance that pays.
- Soil and a well — pride that lasts.
- Farmer as a citizen, not only a photogenic plough.
- A protest is not anti-pride; unpaid dues are.
Drop one peg where it fits — not a data dump
Value addition
- MSP / FRP Pride as a price.
- PM-KISAN A transfer — not a full living.
- Ag census Small/marginal majority.
- MGNREGA When the field cannot pride-feed.
Last 8–10 lines in the exam
Last paragraph
Farmers of India are a pride when the republic pays what it promised and the well still has water. A speech that names them ‘annadata’ while a mill sits on arrears is a theatre. Honour is a price, a crop that matches the soil, an insurance that does not vanish in a clause, a woman on the title. Protest at a border is not a lack of pride; it is pride insisting on a bill. Do not write a harvest-song. Close on paying the cane and keeping the honour — a passbook, not a poster. That is how a farmer remains a citizen.
