Explanation
- A
Argentina
(a) Argentina. The Pampas are the temperate grassland of the Rio de la Plata basin, chiefly Argentina with fringes in Uruguay and Brazil. That stored country is the official key. Cattle and wheat define the economy.
- B
Brazil
(b) Brazil. Brazil has campos and cerrado, and only a small Pampas fringe in the far south, not the heartland named in textbooks.
- C
Chile
(c) Chile. Chile’s mid-latitude west is Mediterranean and Andean, not Pampas prairie.
- D
Ecuador
(d) Ecuador. Ecuador is equatorial Andes and Amazon, without Pampas grassland.
Summary. Official key is (a) Argentina. Pampas grasslands sit mainly in Argentina. Brazil, Chile and Ecuador are South American neighbours with other biomes. Neighbouring grassland names are llanos (Venezuela-Colombia), campos and prairies. Honour Argentina for this paper.
